Walker’s Gap was scratched for being “lame in the post parade,” which likely means he was brought to race that day already injured.

Dayton, Oct 15: “While driving #2 Bit Ofa Tiger N, Chris Page did whip the horse as to cause visible welts on the right side. This is Mr. Page’s 4th whipping offense in the last 365 days. Mr. Page is fined $1,000 and given a 10-day driving suspension, or just a $1,000 fine if not appealed.”
The 10-year-old Bit, by the way, “won” the race, so maybe it was worth it for Page, especially with the suspension being waived with no appeal. Vile. This is not the first time Page has surfaced on this site: here, here, here, here.
I think there is a solution to the massive slaughter of thoroughbreds. A nation-wide campaign to demand the PACT Law be used with speed and power against D. Wayne Lukas, Bob Baffert, and their notorious accomplices. These criminals of hell need to be under charges that certainly can be applied against them due to the Pact Law which provides for 7 years imprisonment for the torture and killing of animals. Racehorses are animals and the evidence is as high as the Sierra Madre mountains that globally race horses are being tortured and killed by drugs. The PACT Law has to be implemented to stop the barbaric and savage trainers who deliberately murder their horses with drugs and de-nerving of lame and damaged runners. Prison terms of 7 or more years (depending upon the number of horses that died in the care of sadists. Massive fines are also appropriate and would certainly be a potent reminder that doing the crime means incarceration along with a diminished bank account.
All involved in the death of a race horse whether trainer, groom, assistant trainer, exercise rider, vet, and, or others, would also be subject to charges (aiding and abetting torture which resulted in malignant injury and death). The Pact Law must be used to bring sadists to justice and save horses from pain, suffering, and horrible deaths.
Horse racing is not sport, it is evil of the worst kind….evil that should be chained in hell forever. The public, humane organizations, and rescue groups must do the petitions so that justice will arrive via the usage of the federal animal cruelty law which upholds and safeguards appropriate consequences for criminals who indulge in criminal acts of torture.
Speaking of the routine abuse of horses for human entertainment of the morally depraved kind, there will be one top tier horse that won’t be sent out to die in the Breeders’ Cup races in November of 2024. THE CHOSEN VRON was scratched from the BC by a veterinarian. He’s a gelding so he doesn’t have that so-called “second career” ahead of him. His connection says he’s always been “off” in the hind with no drug use (to mask it and make him run anyway). Isn’t it so special when a trainer or an owner says such “thoughtful” remarks about his highest money earning horse…?
The moral depravity of human greed sending out lame and unsound horses to run in competition is nothing new in this despicable business.
