  1. Thank you for updating and publishing the race horse deaths for PA ending 3-30-19. A moratorium needs to be put on racing in PA until these deaths are further investigated.

  2. my OTTB was raced 6 times in PA. I thank my lucky stars every single day he was terrible at it, and was able to escape the horrors. Not so for these poor souls…:-(
the day is coming, horseracing WILL be a thing of the past!

  3. Not only is PA a horror show for racehorses, but it’s rampant with corruption.
The horse racing business in PA has been handed BILLIONS in casino profits over the years and under this corrupt regime that massive suffering, maiming and dying of racehorses continues with zippo accountability.
Aside from the obvious moral issue of killing racehorses for their stupid $2 bets just imagine what billions in money could do for their crumbling infrastructure and education system in PA.
I’ve reviewed many newspaper articles when they were first passing the “coupling” of horse racing tracks with casinos “racinos” including Woodbine Racetrack and every single article promised taxpayers that this arrangement would only be temporary because, after all, millions in profit would put the horse racing industry in a position to finally financially sustain themselves.
We all know what happened with yet another empty promise because the billions in profits are going to support racehorses running in circles and probably politicians/attorneys/HBPA while they are dropping dead in the dirt.
The education, infrastructure and community projects that were promised money?
Well, just like the racehorses they get little to nothing.
This business must end and it can’t end soon enough for the racehorses and for anybody else who opposes horse racing.
So sorry for yet another bunch of innocent, voiceless, defenseless gentle giants, racehorses, who didn’t deserve to be a disposable gambling chip for this vile business and the vile people in it.

  4. Mountaineer 3rd race monday nite 12 yr old romeo royale running i hope he makes it without injury he should be retired having it easy on farm not still racing for his life

  5. Concerning the 2011 dark bay gedling, The Morning Guys – he’s had 79 starts, looks like the majority of them at Parx . He made nearly 400K.

In his last race (at Parx) in March of this year (running for a $7500 tag), he was claimed but it was voided by the vet. And now he needs a home…a “permanent PASTURE TYPE home”…”companion or lightly ridden”.

Only 8 years old – racing’s made him into a pasture ornament. And now they want someone else to take care of him – “permanently” – and try to keep him comfortable. Think about that for just a minute…racing took every dime he earned, robbed him of a sound body, and now they are expecting someone ELSE to take on the emotional and financial costs for him for the next 20 years or so. If his legs can carry him that long.
