No Less Than 7 Bleeders Last Week

The following horses were injured in U.S. races last week and were unable to walk off the track under their own power – i.e., they needed the “equine ambulance.” While fates remain unknown at this time, please know we will eventually get kill confirmations on many if not most via our FOIA reporting. Also, “bled” refers to pulmonary hemorrhage.

And then there were these, not reported as ambulanced but…

  1. Since BIG HEARTED FACTOR ran 5th at the quarter pole and to the finish in a five horse race in Wyoming, I am wondering if he bled?
I couldn’t find if he ran on Lasix this last time but I did find that he ran on “bute” so you know he is/was dealing with a lot of pain from lameness type issues and most likely ulcers too.

  2. Again, so many falling horses. I can only imagine the terror, confusion, and pain they felt.
