How do these people continue to do their jobs? Money.
I always wonder about the regulatory vets that are putting these mangled horses down, day in and day out. I wonder about their mental health, their emotional health, and wonder how they can continue to do their jobs and support this.
One horse and two jockeys down. That was interesting how the horse behind the fallen horse managed to straddle over the downed horse but the jockey lost his balance and fell to the ground. Not all track announcers would have acknowledged the horse falling being so far in the back from the front runners.
It also looks like the fallen horse veered to the left which interfered with the other horse’s path. From what I understand, it is “normal” for an injured horse to veer to one side or the other in some cases.
