Another Day, Another Kill at Keeneland – 2-Year-Old Autism Honor G

The 2nd at Keeneland yesterday was Autism Honor G’s very first race – and her last. This, from the track:

“Autism Honor G was pulled up in the stretch by jockey Agustin Gomez and immediately attended to on-track by veterinarians…and transported via equine ambulance. She was thoroughly evaluated and found to have sustained a knee fracture. Due to the extent of her injury, humane euthanasia was elected in the best interest of the horse. Keeneland sends sincere condolences to owner Cinthya Delfin and trainer Israel Acevedo.”

Yes, condolences to those responsible. They added: “Agustin Gomez was evaluated by UK HealthCare medical staff and cleared to ride.” Well thank heavens for that.

Autism Honor G (I truly hate these names) had just turned two. This was Keeneland’s second kill (High Go) in its first eight racedays of 2026. Getting “safer” all the time, huh?

  1. Ruthlessly brutalizing horses in flat track races or steeplechase events is unacceptable besides hideously revolting! However, to say or imply, or even remotely suggest, that it is for a “good cause” by connecting it to a charitable cause or fundraiser simply multiplies the evil factor! It’s revolting!

  2. A quick Google search of the name AUTISTIC HONOR G reveals that she was born on March 25, 2024. The other thing that is significant is the adjective they use to describe her — “early-maturing”. That is as much bullshit as saying “the horse caused his own trouble”. These people really know how to make themselves disgusting, despicable, and revolting as well as criminal. There is no excuse that is valid for this Animal Cruelty.

  3. As a family who is only to well knowledgeable about an high functioning autistic son we strongly object to these names! Our high functioning son became more emphatic & more sensitive to other living animals because of our 1st horse, Turk. Turk taught him to be more aware of others. Albeit at times painfully. He learned the body language of horses. He became more normal despite his not having a “Working Memory” as Temple Grandin PHD of Colorado University would call it. We had Turk from the time of 2 1/2 until 30. Our son rode Turk everywhere & even learned to shoe him! Upon some of our family members passing he even cried at the memorial services which is something many autistic people don`t usually do. He would have cried if he had seen this horse being hurt so bad! We also saw “Backside” Typical horrible isolating conditions for those horses at our old tracks Portland Meadows & Lone Oak Park. Sad indeed for those horses! He is still involved with horses at our Thoroughbred farm & handles all of them including our farm sire who he taught to be ridden bit-less with a Dr. Cooks bridle. He has taught many breeds of horses to be ridden without any whips, spurs, bits or even at times no saddle. Yes, we object to these horse names & their participation in the racing industry!

  4. I wonder what people living with autism and their friends and family would think of the exploitation and cruelty inflicted upon a horse named Autism Honor G? Honor? Pride? Enhanced awareness?
On a different note, a PBS program “Backside” aired last night. Check it out if you haven’t seen it. Not earth shattering, but still sad.

  5. And two-year-olds are categorized as “BABIES” since they are SO NOT YET DEVELOPED ENOUGH to withstand the rigorous demands of adulthood let alone hardcore racing!
This morally depraved industry itself categorizes 2-year-olds as babies because they have the knowledge in the “horsemen” community and the veterinary medicine community to know the anatomy and physiology of horses. Obviously, this young and underdeveloped FILLY was in a BABY RACE.
In addition to the owner and the trainer, Keeneland is also responsible for this completely avoidable tragedy! The whole disgusting industry is responsible for this tragedy and the thousands of other tragedies caused by this greedy and heartless industry.
It is unacceptable that Kentucky legislators and others depend on the Kentucky Derby and other races to attract tourists to their state and the cities and towns within Kentucky. Owners and operators of hotels, motels, restaurants, and liquor stores need to think about the victims of horseracing that they depend on to attract tourists to their businesses. They need to have a conscience because they depend on this morally depraved industry for tourism dollars.

  6. I have just found out Frosted was euthanized yesterday with acute laminitis. He was 14 years old. Sad.

  7. What a “sport” where the “athletes” are KILLED in their “best interest”! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
