Through a FOIA request to the North Dakota Racing Commission, I have confirmed the following kill there last year. (Please note: North Dakota is among the lightest of racing states, with but 16 racedays last year.)

R Thirtyeight was two years old and had been raced five times. His last race was just nine days prior to death-day; that race was also his second in seven days.
Agree 100% Wanda! Typical though of the bull ring tracks here in Oregon! So sad for this young colt.
The owner/trainer, Chris Longie, has to be one despicable person to have raced a 2-year-old Quarter Horse gelding on June 7, 15, 29, and July 12 & 18 in 2025.
How is this “regulated” racing?
R THIRTYEIGHTSPECIAL was born on May 11, 2023 and exploited to death as a 2-year-old in 2025.
Everyone involved should be charged with Animal Cruelty for their part in this heinous cruelty to a young and underdeveloped castrated colt.
