Our Weekly Ambulance Report

The following horses were injured in U.S. races last week and had to be removed from the track by “equine ambulance.” While fates remain unknown at this time, we will eventually get death confirmations on many, if not most, through our FOIA reporting. Note, also, that “bled” is shorthand for pulmonary hemorrhage – bleeding in the lungs.

  1. It is awesome that you walked away from this insane cruelty to horses, Fred & Joan!!!!
Does the average person really understand that lip chains are just straight up sadistic and cruel???
It is a known fact that horses exploited for racing and gambling are not given a proper foundation of being handled from the ground or under saddle. They are just barely handled enough to get them to where they can run laps around the racetrack under the weight of a rider carrying a whip.
For anyone who wants more information, I recommend watching Ryan Rose videos on YouTube. He works with horses from the ground to start and he explains what he is doing and why. He treats the horses like they are friends, not slaves. He is a very good communicator.

  2. Have to admit every time we see a poor horse with that torture device lip chain it makes us cringe! Their rampant use 1 of many reasons we quit participation in racing after > 25 years.
