In the wake of publishing our Maryland report, activists there, led by our organizer (and board member), the indefatigable Jen Sully, have commenced a media campaign. The plea is simple and earnest: report the carnage. So far, at least one, NBC Baltimore, has. While covering our protest at Laurel Saturday, the station afforded Jen this wonderful quote:

That’s telling it like it is by saying there is no humane way to abuse a horse because horse racing is abuse. Well said and well done! Thank you, Jen Sully!

Laurel’s attempt to “fix” the track last year after all their breakdowns sure seems to have been worthless.
They have had quite a few recent van offs and horses with injuries that I would guess are no longer with us sadly.
