Through a FOIA request to the Wyoming Pari-Mutuel Commission, I have confirmed the following kills at that state’s tracks last year (this is part 2; part 1 here).
Blazing Bayou, Aug 26, Sweetwater R – “fractured leg in turn after finish”
Gettinhot’nhere, Sep 9, Sweetwater R – “fractured leg behind starting gate”
Heir Horse One, Sep 9, Sweetwater R – “broke neck in the fourth turn” (chart merely said, “clipped heels”)
Call Spike, Sep 16, Sweetwater R – “broke ankle in home stretch” (chart merely said, “lost path, DNF”)

Chartwriters or chartliars? What is the difference? For anyone who is not delusional and isn’t okay with the animal-abuse free-for-all that is entertainment in Wyoming, we know that these horses are not going to some magical place where they are receiving medical attention and then magically living happily ever after. But then again, a lot of cowboys are fine with the sadistic treatment of livestock and sending them to slaughter anyway.
I don’t expect SPORTS ILLUSTRATED to cover the injuries inflicted on any of the animals used and abused at the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo, Chuckwagon races and Quarter Horse races, for example, but, of course, they will cover the stories of the cowboys who sustain injuries.
The animals will be killed right then and there and if not they will be shipped to slaughterhouses where they fulfill their destiny as commodified objects, not as the sentient beings that they literally are.
Love how these desperate Equibase chartwriters have appointed themselves as Saviors of Racing by deliberately omitting these on-track injuries, deaths, van-offs and euths from their official record. Guess they figure if they leave it off the chart, then it couldn’t have happened.
(News Flash for you chart-lying, horse-killing enablers: the public now knows about your poorly-hidden horrors. We see you.)
It just never ends..the abuse and the killing..of the beautiful horse..by the evil horse racing people..thank you to all who are working to end this horrible abuse…
