First Money Confirmed Dead – That Makes It Three Kills at Parx Tuesday

As we previously reported, two horses – Keeping It Country and Awesome Cause – were killed racing at Parx Tuesday. In that post, I noted that in KIC’s race, First Money was an “injured/vanned off” – wording that more often than not translates to dead. And indeed he is. So, that makes it three horses killed at Parx in the same afternoon – in fact, within an hour of one another. This poor boy was six, and this was his 31st time under the whip. His chief exploiter: owner/trainer Jaime Bravo-Estrada.

  1. Three horses in one day of racing? It looks like to us that track needs to be shut down & an investigation done as to why so many break downs & injuries to horses are occurring! If we were riders there we would be worried about a horse breaking down while we were riding in am or pm.

  2. I am extremely sad to read this, but not surprised.
What was pathetic is that he was hit right before he broke down.

  3. I wish Parx could be shut down for at least a week when they kill so many horses in one day. Of course, it’s a no-brainer that I wish Parx racing could be shut down forever, never to be allowed to abuse another horse to death.
An investigation done by an outside source to expose the people and the chronological order of events that take place leading up to the fatalities of the horses should be done in writing and on film and published for the public to be educated and informed of how their taxes are supporting the violations of Animal Welfare laws and general principles.
Why not expose them with at least a short documentary?
