Yesterday: “Euthanized on Track” at Mountaineer; “Multi-Horse Spill” at Horseshoe

The full chart note for Cold Plunge at Mountaineer last night: “Cold Plunge was injured after the wire and euthanized on track.” And that’s that. This poor boy was five; ’twas his 26th time under the whip. The responsible: breeder Head of Plains, owner Gage Pinkerton, trainer John Brown, jockey Kyle Gilbert. Pinkerton, by the way, had offered CP up for sale (for only $4,000) immediately before he was killed.

Then this – what the announcer called a “multi-horse spill” – from Horseshoe yesterday. Although the chart said all three of the fallen – Deerfield, Bon Temps, Clear the Beach – “walked off,” that does not necessarily mean all survived.

  1. According to one of my online searches of the three-horse spill at Horseshoe Indianapolis on October 6, 2026, AI is completely denying that any such thing happened on October 6, 2026. How special is that?!

  2. They wouldn’t dare show any video of the horses allegedly walking off the track.
