According to an official at the monthly Commission meeting, the injury to this poor girl “was catastrophic and the horse was put down on the track.” A minute after he reported that, however, he said, “It was a great meet. We had no rider injuries…which is just incredible…and we sent home some very happy patrons and a lot of happy horsemen.” It’s all about priorities, right? This “great meet” with just one kill, by the way, was all of four days.
There was a sick as hell race today at Laurel. It was meant for turf ….but,off because of weather put on main track. It was so bad. These poor animals 😭
Ask the 300 million Americans who know almost nothing about horse racing what “went wrong” means and might say “something that didn’t go right”.??? Ask a person involved in “the game” of horse racing and they know very well (but don’t care). Why are the gaming commission and others allowed to use various euphemisms? Answer – they’re “just animals”.
It’s time for these heartless people to lose their social license to operate.
