The Equibase chart notes for the three horses at Emerald Downs raise more questions than answers as far as what injuries they suffered from that would require the equine ambulance.
DYNAMIC SECRET was a “DNF”, was pulled up and removed from the track via the equine ambulance. Using the word “removed” makes me think the horse is dead.
HONEY RED was also a “DNF”, was pulled up and removed from the track via the equine ambulance.
RIGHT HAND RYDER …tired then was transported off the track via the equine ambulance. (Out of an eight-horse race, he allegedly finished eighth.)
I would be surprised if DYNAMIC SECRET or HONEY RED are alive.
Ah…the Crooked River Roundup! Not surprised to read of a breakdown at that track. We have ridden horses for some of the crummy trainers there. A local TV station is touting how that track has 4,000 t0 6,000 attendance & how you can place a bet for just $3. No mention of the poor horse who broke down! We have been to that track. It has absolutely crummy stalls that are not even permanent. Not even a shed row roof over hang for protection from the elements! Of course they have their crummy rodeo too. More barbaric treatment of horses in that business. Horses don`t go “wrong”! They are only treated wrongly by uncaring people who are in to prestige & $$!
