Parx Yesterday: “Suffered Catastrophic Injury…Subsequently Euthanized”

The chartwriter’s cold, terse note for J C’s Lovin’ Life in the 9th at Parx yesterday: “J C’s Lovin’ Life suffered a catastrophic injury to her left front on the turn, was eased and subsequently euthanized.” And that’s that, next horse up. J C’s Lovin’ Life – a horrible name, but aren’t they all – was four, and this was her 9th time under the whip. Complicit in her kill: Blackstone Farm, Philip Rubin Stable, Michael Pino, Mychel Sanchez.

Although the replay didn’t capture it, the ethically-challenged track announcer was able to squeeze in “there was a spill at the back” before calling the exciting finish. While that was it for commentary on J C’s, she did make sure to note that “Mychel Sanchez [is] up and on his feet.” Thank heavens for that, huh?

  1. These people would be serving time in prison if there was true justice for the horses. There would not be government handouts for inflicting pain and suffering on horses if the laws were not so messed up regarding Animal Cruelty.
