According to the chart for the 5th at Churchill Jun 19, it was a banner day for the exploiters of Bourbon Town (Rey Hernandez, Luis Saez, Nick Jacoby, Bruce Ferguson, et al.), for you see, the 2-year-old colt “won” his race and with it a cool $52K. But, says the Kentucky Commission, Bourbon “was pulled up abruptly after the race [with] a catastrophic injury to his right foreleg and was humanely euthanized.” Dead.
There’s no mention of this in his chart. I watched the FanDuel replay, and of course they quickly cut away when he broke down. I’ve noticed that the betting sites are making an even bigger effort to scrub and sanitize horse deaths. Thank you Patrick and Nicole for your tenacity to discover and expose these horse deaths and bring them to the public’s attention.
This is egregious cruelty to a young horse not fully developed into a mature horse. This egregious cruelty to young and underdeveloped colts and fillies is SO TYPICAL of the people of horse racing. The constant REPETITIVE FORCE on the young and underdeveloped colt’s bones, muscles, and soft tissues causes constant damage and internal injuries.
I’m sure the morally depraved human connections to this 2-year-old colt will be crying (and by crying I mean laughing) all the way to the bank.
Horse exploitation of this type should be punished by law because it is Animal Cruelty!
