  1. He broke his right pelvis or his dislocated it . The his left front leg shattered

  2. Looks like the horse incurred an injury coming out of the starting gate or just after.

It would have been completely fine before the race, as each horse is inspected by a Vet before being allowed to the start gate.

  3. He got bumped by the other horse right out of the gates is what caused the whole thing!

  4. Oh I hate these races! These poor souls pay the price for human greed. Prayers to them all. God bless

  5. I don’t believe the spinal injury occurred until after the gelding flopped over the fence. Wish the jockey had pulled him up instead of jumping off…

  6. It looks like he only had one leg to stand on. It is a disgrace to know this idiotic form of racing continues and is not banned from further horror shows.

  7. That was absolutely horrific!!!!! It looks like the colt was severely injured in the right hind limb and possibly had a fractured spine/pelvis. It looks like the jockey knew the colt’s injury was extremely severe and anticipated that the horse was about to go down.
I wonder how much experience this jockey has had with horses going down with the same type of fracture(s) and therefore knew the severity from the start?
