So Long, Light Up Racing, We Hardly Knew You!

Earlier this month, word came that “Light Up Racing,” a grassroots org launched in 2024 to “drive positive change” in the horseracing industry, is shutting down for good this fall due to a lack of funding and an “alignment” problem with other racing orgs.

As Nicole pointed out back when LUR debuted, it was but the latest in a string of desperate attempts by the apologists to counter us and our messaging (read: facts). And, as you will see, Nicole was ever so prescient!

  1. I CANNOT believe they are running races in the Northeast after so much rain has fallen. The slop must be incredible. It’s DISGUSTING.

  2. Horseracing is of course animal abuse, but those with interest in the industry can of course not admit that, or/and do not understand what they are doing. Greetings from Sweden.

In my state,Oregon, the racing industry such as it is, is trying to have the legislature approve .03% allocation of $$ from the states lottery to fund purses & tracks operations.As it is the industry has talked the legislature into providing 5 million to each bull ring county track including 1 million to resurrect Harney county race track. The lottery $$ were originally meant for economic development when the lottery was approved by voters in the mid-1980`s.

  4. Light Up Racing told the stupidest lies about horses and horse racing. A person would have to be “brain-dead” to believe the idiotic stuff they published on their website.
