Led by our indomitable Maryland coordinator (and board member) Jen Sully, HW was out in force for the Preakness Saturday. What’s more, we garnered great coverage – which, of course, amplifies our message exponentially – starting on Friday with the death of Hit Zero. Among the outlets were The Baltimore Sun (front page in Sunday’s paper; here is the piece on Yahoo), The Baltimore Banner, and multiple interviews with CBS Baltimore – here, here. (The latter was noteworthy, for we – the activists – were given the last word.)

Great work – thank you to all!

Jen Sully and everyone who showed up for the Preakness should be proud of the impact you made, especially with the strong media coverage and the attention brought to Hit Zero’s death. Thank you for your persistence and public visibility. HW clearly delivered!
Thank you ALL! Keep the faith!
Kudos to you ALL 🙌
We viewed this a couple of days ago. Good to see so many people telling others of this wastage of horses & $$ in this industry. Just think how much good could have been done with all those $$ wasted on rebuilding Pimlico! Its crazy to think the state of Maryland is to own & operate a racetrack that is based on gamboling! Here in Oregon in the 1980`s most people don`t know that at one time Multnomah county & the Portland Public schools operated Portland Meadows for a time when the track went bankrupt! The county & school district needed the $$ to fund the county & schools! They later did find an operator for our now long gone 1 mile track which is now an Amazon warehouse & office headquarters. A much better & higher use of the property.
Thank you all for this tremendous work! Excellent coverage! I’m impressed.
