The chart note for Kingdom’s Spirit in the 2nd at Mountaineer last night: “Kingdom’s Spirit took a bad step, falling at the half-mile pole, and was euthanized on track.” This poor, poor girl was eight years old. Her scumbag owner/trainer, Craig Cox, also had her “For Sale” (cheap: $4K) just moments before she was killed.
Please watch to the end (we captured both angles), then share far and wide…

Notice how the horse is able and willing to stop trying to run after the rider falls off. This is one reason why I feel jockeys should be willing to dismount quickly when it is obvious that the horse is done for. No matter how you land, it’s going to hurt anyway. Riding a horse with broken bones is just wrong on all levels.
This is a cruel industry and there can’t be too many videos to show the reality of it.
To whoever was able to record this video were glad you were able to! Clearly showing how terrible when a horse breaks down! These kinds of events need to be seen by more people depicting the actual terrible experiences horses suffer through in racing.
