Regarding the steeplechase races, is it possible to report specific abuses to the local law enforcement in Maryland? If people can get the cruelty to horses documented in print and photographs and their own videos, that would be something.
Otherwise, the people at the National Steeplechase Association could say it didn’t happen.
How special do the people at the National Steeplechase Association think they are? They must be called out every time horses are injured for providing a platform for horses to be injured and sometimes fatally injured!
I have taken to watching the steeplechase races since the NSA is now hiding their reports, which included injuries and fatalities in the past.
At the Grand National in MD on Saturday, as the horses were approaching a fence, one of the horses swung out and then veered back into another horse running at full speed. It knocked both of them off their feet. They luckily both got back up, but we will most likely never know if there were any consequences as the result of that collision.
In the last race of the day, a horse that was leading fell at the last fence. Of course the camera quickly zoomed away, then it seemed like there were a lot of people watching what was going on, and some people were running, which is never a good sign. Again, most likely we will never know what actually happened, as the NSA wants to be as least transparent as possible, since their feelings were hurt last year. Not sure how that is allowed, but the world of racing sure seems to make their own rules up as they go.
