Good Money Killed at Aqueduct; Hero Or Zero Killed at Santa Anita

As previously reported, Good Money was injured and subsequently “transported off the course via ambulance” at Aqueduct Sunday. We now know (Gaming Commission) he is dead – LF fracture, “due to poor prognosis horse was euthanized.” Good Money was four years old. Complicit in the kill (among others): Hill N Dale Equine Holdings, Linda Rice, and Sahin Civaci. By the way, owner/trainer Rice had also successfully unloaded Good Money just prior to the race with a $20K sale. Alas, she will see none of that.

Also, the CHRB says Hero Or Zero was killed training at Santa Anita yesterday. He had just turned three. The complicit: Reddam Racing and the (in)famous Doug O’Neill.

  1. HORSES SHOULD BE MEDICALLY TREATED WHENEVER THEY ARE HURT BEING USED AS FOR HORSE RACING OR ANYTHING THAT THEY COULD BE HURT FROM! THIS HORSE DIDN’T WANT TO LIVE IT’S LIFE FOR THIS CRUEL, TORTURE, ABUSIVE PURPOSE. I CAN ONLY HOPE & PRAY THAT THE SAME ABUSE IS PLACED ON YOU!!!!!!

  2. This heinous cruelty to horses is part of the “ecosystem” of racing. It would be tough to explain how corrupt this system is to a Fourth grader. I think a lot of people want to think this system is better than killing horses by the abusive and repetitive stress (and doping and whipping and shocking) inflicted on horses for racing and gambling.
So Linda Rice and Doug O’Neill will not go to jail as they should because, so far, true justice for crimes against horses is not guaranteed. The whole racing industry needs to be shut down for the heinous cruelty and killing of horses.
