Notes: Horses who are injured so badly they require an ambulance to get off the track more often than not end up dead, as borne out by our subsequent FOIA reporting. “Bled”: indicates pulmonary hemorrhage. “DNF”: unable to finish the race. (For any new confirmed kills during the week, please see our running annual list.)

The connections did talk, a little, about Baby Yoda. Initially they said the horse was gone over and nothing was found. I’ve not been able to find an update since.
Baby Yoda has won over 1 million dollars. If something serious happened to the horse, the connections are probably going to talk about it.
It’s hard to imagine that Legal Mousse did not some kind of physical ailment before the race at Turf Paradise. The horse was injured in the first few strides out of the gate. Legal Mousse never won a race and moved down the claiming ranks from $50k to $30K to $12,500 to $7500 / $8500 in his last couple of races.
