Wanda you need to investigate what happened to Motown before you write anything. I was part owner of her and it was a freak morning training accident. She was ponying (no rider on her) she was bucking and playing when she got away from the pony person she stepped on the shank fell and broke her neck no other choice but to euthanize her. I suggest before you write such awful things you check the situation out. I am devastated to read garbage like this about my mare and my brother. She was a barn pet. All are horses are cared for like part of the family. Maybe you should consider taking this post down now that you know the real story. She was NOT DRUGED.

You are missing the point. This website is meant to be a voice for racehorses! As animals they don’t have a choice about being used and abused as gambling chips.
Someone else who cares must speak out against this inherently inhumane so-called sport that literally kills horses by the abuse, brutality, cruelty, doping, and disregard for the horse as a sentient being.
We know that there are people who participate in other sports who cheat in those sports. We also know that in the current administration/regime there is insider trading (running rampant) without oversight which includes betting on the fact that Maduro in Venezuela would be kidnapped/abducted/removed from his country and power by the United States on or before a certain month/ day/ year.
We also know that there are also many other types of things that people who like to gamble can bet money on with a chance to win hundreds of thousands of dollars in one bet without overnight because it is insider trading. Law-abiding people are appalled, but what is going to be done about it…???
The corruption in our government is running rampant. This thing called sociopathic greed is in the people who participate in exploiting anything that is exploitable without listening to their conscience; money and power are their gods.
Some people have no scruples and this is true of humankind, not only in horse racing.
It figures, Santa Anita. Poor Mo Town Girl!!! This is so sad and disturbing. RIP beautiful. I hope your spirit haunts all those who contributed to your death.
Not 2 year old races and dont training them until fully 2 years,old.
Put their butt under the whip and see how they like it. We can drug him after, also just to see how they like that.

I love true honest horse racing. But we aren’t seeing honest horse racing. The all mighty dollar has conquered the horse. The esteem of owning a race for your stable has conquered the horse. Starting TB babies Early at 14-16 months has conquered the horse. Until the racing world cleans itself up this will continue until racing will be outlawed for

MO TOWN GAL was doped (or should I say ‘medicated’?) by her trainer, Bill McLean, in 2025. Thanks to the Horseracing Integrity and Welfare Unit, the MEDICATION VIOLATIONS were reported regarding Bill McLean “doping” MO TOWN GAL excessively and/or with illegal drugs (?).
It sounds to me like if it was just up to the California Horse Racing Board alone, the MEDICATION VIOLATIONS would not be reported at all.
But, even though these so-called authorities, the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority and the Horseracing Integrity and Welfare Unit task themselves with reporting MEDICATION VIOLATIONS, it is the California Horse Racing Board who, at their own “discretion”, report the death/killing of a horse that has been used and abused for PARI-MUTUEL HANDLE and PURSE MONEY.
Even though there are all of these horse racing industry “authorities” doing all of this reporting of “TRAINERS” breaking the rules and the laws and killing innocent horses, the fact remains that BILL MCLEAN or any other HORSE KILLING TRAINER doesn’t get charged with Animal Cruelty AND does not get arrested for Animal Cruelty AND does not lose his/her CHRB License to continue to commit Animal Cruelty on sentient beings exploited as racehorses.
Santa Anita Park as well as ever other horse killing racetrack should be condemned as venues of ANIMAL CRUELTY and shutdown, put out of business, bulldozed over and redeveloped into something that doesn’t involve inherently inhumane acts against sentient beings.
Unfortunately there is no way to stop the doping at Santa Anita.
The big money trainers have access to vets and chemists with undetectable vaso and bronchio dialators.
These are administered in key races to make their horses seem invincible.
