Brody, said the chartwriter at Turfway Dec 20, “suffered an injury and was transported off the track in an ambulance.” We now have this followup from the Racing Commission:
“The horse [was] transported to a Lexington clinic for further evaluation where he was humanely euthanized due to his poor prognosis.”
“The horse” was four years old; ’twas his 20th time under the whip.

“Handle, Purses Both Fall In 2025” by Bill Finley of Thoroughbred Daily News:
“According to…, the total figures for two of the sport’s most important categories declined in 2025.”
The way I see it, Bill Finley managed to spell it out (or spill the beans) for anyone who wasn’t sure that the importance of horse health and wellness is much lower on their list of priorities. This is definitely an admission, as far as I am concerned, that the MONEY in handle and purses IS OF A MUCH HIGHER PRIORITY than the safety and the literal lives of the horses.
No horse deserves to be snuffed out for racing and gambling. BRODY could have lived to be over twenty years of age if he had not been abused to death by morally depraved people.
