Is This Entertainment, America?

2-year-old Sizzling Hottie, said the chart for Evangeline Friday, “fell leaving the gate” and was eventually ambulanced off. Here is how that looked…

  1. Well done, Jennifer, for giving dignity to the horses by speaking their names. They were real, flesh and blood, sentient beings who were forced into a deadly game, betrayed, and killed by people they were asked to trust. And for what? Money? Of course. And some people’s sick idea of entertainment.

  2. Thank you to Jennifer Sully and all who stood by the roadside with signs to educate the public about the carnage of horses exploited for racing and gambling.
Also, many thanks to all who made it possible for the signs to be made. I think the consistency and readability of the signs are key to getting the point across.
Children at a fourth grade reading level ought to be able to read the signs that inform that HORSERACING KILLS HORSES so most adults ought to be able to read the big signs with large lettering as they drive by.

SIZZLING HOTTIE (Texas), a Quarter Horse filly foaled on February 1, 2023 was raced five (5) times in Texas in 2025; April 26 (7th place)/ May 9 (1st place)/ July 12 (4th place)/ September 13 (9th place)/ November 7 (2nd place) and then transported to Evangeline in Louisiana.
She was “raced” on December 12, 2025 (ONLY FIVE DAYS AFTER HER PREVIOUS RACE) at Evangeline and, as the video clearly shows, Did Not Finish.
I personally wonder if her pelvis was broken. Whatever her injuries were, she did not struggle to get up but her head was up, not touching the ground.
Her breeder and owner: Joe H. Reyna. Her trainer: Jose Sanchez. Her jockey was Humberto Vital.
These people are depraved to do this to a beautiful young and underdeveloped filly. She deserved so much better than this!
