A clip of 3-year-old Therdgoesonforever at Fairmount yesterday. “Oh no. … The rider is up, thank god. The horse is not.” And yet, the Winner’s Circle celebration carried on.

And 5-year-old Bullet Breeze at Parx Tuesday:

  1. We have pulled up lots of horses when we galloped horses at the track. Never pulled up one like that catastrophic breakdown which is what that was! That announcer is not a good race caller.

  2. Running at a full gallop and all of a sudden the whole body of the horse drops to the ground and rolls from the momentum in both cases above.
Where does the track announcer at Parx get off saying “pulled up”?
Horseracing is the daily routine mistreatment and torture of horses for racing and Pari-mutuel gambling.
It is cruelty to horses and it is not okay.

  3. Jessica Paquette, easily one of the worst and stupidest announcers in American racing, can’t even get it right. “Pulling up”?? Yea he pulled up in a major way! She at least announced later that poor Bullet Breeze was up and seemed OK, but who knows if she even got that right!
