Dead One Month After “Experiencing a Fracture”

On May 26 at Aqueduct, Ferris Muler, said the chart, “was transported off the course via ambulance.” We have now learned (Gaming Commission) that the 5-year-old had “experienced a fracture” that day and was euthanized “due to poor prognosis” exactly one month later. My take: In all likelihood this poor boy was forced to endure an extended suffering in the hope that they could get him back out there (he hadn’t descended to claiming status yet) or to preserve him for the breeding shed (he was still intact).

This is horseracing.

  1. Wanda the IRS depreciation & farm expense rules need change! The rules at present don`t really encourage the long term health or productivity of horses on farms. The depreciation of breeding stock if raised & maintained under natural herd environments live & produce way longer than what the depreciation schedule is listed for!! We have some 27 years experience with this. The depreciation schedules have changed several times over the course of time. Not at all for the good of the horses either.

  2. The IRS would most likely approve of this choice by the owners to show that they are making every effort to “make a profit” off of the horse no matter how much pain and suffering the horse must tolerate and endure. This is disgusting as well as business as usual.
This abuse of horses is cruelty.
