Watching Horses Fall – Good, Clean Family Fun

Earlier this week, I reported on multiple horses – Zabeel Champion, Foxy Walk, and Zarak the Brave – going down in the same race at the Iroquois Steeplechase May 10. Here is what that looked like…

  1. Bank of America is the sponsor for this steeplechase event in Tennessee. I would like to suggest that everyone change banks if they are currently banking with this bank; Bank of America was known to notoriously charge fees for anything that they possibly could. It was sort of a joke to say they charged a fee for asking why they charged so many fees. It was the “asking too many questions” fee.
This Iroquois Steeplechase is allegedly intended to be “a world class” event. What a trainwreck! Also, they are hiding behind the mask of fundraising for charities with this #Animal Cruelty event.

  2. Jdoe:

    Sorry, friend, I’m out.

Been out for several years now, and I have no intention of returning.
Yes, of course, I certainly realize your post is sarcastic, and it’s a good one.
Can’t argue with logic! I tell it to all my former betting cronies.

  3. According to the write-up on the Iroquois Steeplechase website, the winning horse is mentioned by name and it goes on to say something about the “rich legacy” of this Steeplechase fiasco but you would never know that any horse was injured without reading Horseracing Wrongs.
That “rich legacy” vomit is so typical of this modern day barbarism.

  4. I seem to remember someone saying “trump was going to create some sort of department to cut waste” …I guess the post was to insinuate once trump got into office….it would end subsidies to can’t stand on its own horse racing? Well, think again 😒 ….AIN’T happening. One good thing, economy is so bad,gas is cheaper. 🤣

  5. The regulars have heard my disdain for the hurdle races. Now you know why.. just a taste of the barbaric abuse in a civilized country. The broken necks legs, pelvis, shoulders happening when thousand pound animals fly over the jump and land on their front two legs. A sin and travesty that this is tolerated. Sad sad sad.

  6. That`s one of the biggest disasters of horse event we have ever seen! Total incompetence on the part of some of the riders! Some of them clearly are not fit to ride clearly endangering the horses & other riders. We have always thought steeplechase races horrible on horses!

  7. Here’s a plan everyone…

We can pay money to go to an event.

We can gamble too, but the house takes a 20-25% cut off the top and the insiders cheat, so we are almost guaranteed to lose money.

Sometimes they parade live animals that break legs and roll around in pain before being killed.

It’s called the sport of kings.

    Who’s in!

  8. There is one jockey that falls off for what appears to be no reason. After that, the camera is looking back at the horses while they are jumping so it is more difficult to focus on which horses are falling. These videos don’t always show up well on a small device such as mine. I think it would be a little easier to see what is going on with a much larger screen.
However, one thing is VERY clear and that is that the primary focus is on the horses in the lead! In this industry, it’s all about who’s going to win the race. Whoever fell down and to whatever degree they were injured is always secondary to the horse and the jockey who “wins” which makes this industry so blatantly depraved, demoralizing, detestable, disgusting, diabolical, dastardly and despicable.
