According to the chart for Turfway Dec 11, O’Donnelly “went wrong, fell, and [was] subsequently removed from the track in the equine ambulance.” This description almost always means dead and in fact he is – “catastrophic injury to left foreleg, humanely euthanized,” says the Racing Commission. O’Donnelly was three years old.
Also, the CHRB reports that Touchdown Kittle died at Pleasanton Christmas Day, no details. He was four years old and had been whip-raced seven times, most recently Dec 15 at that same track. He is kill #104 in California this year.
It’s deplorable and detestable to subject this cruelty onto horses. It’s criminal Animal Cruelty.
