Yesterday, three Thoroughbreds died and four others were injured when the trailer on which they were being transported crashed in Kentucky. The horses were headed to Keeneland from Oaklawn. All seven horses are/were trained by Eddie Kenneally. Only one of the three dead has been identified thus far: 3-year-old Darkroom. We do know one of the injured because his owner, Matthew Wiley, sent this out:
“It’s been a horrible day. We don’t know if Vitement will survive. He is in terrible condition. I feel so badly for Eddie Kenneally and the family at the barn, Richie and all my partners. It’s as bad as it gets. V is like a family member.”
You know what I’m going to say.
Here is the wreck…

And here is Vitement, posted by Wiley with the caption, “our boy”:

According to the text, the horse lying down is named VITEMENT and he is alive in the picture.
Who is the horse laying g down in trailer is he dead
I agree with you, Marie, that rig must have been traveling pretty fast to climb the embankment the way it did.
I can’t imagine the terror and suffering of those innocent trusting creatures being hauled to the track because of these people’s obsession with gambling, money and ego.
I wonder if he fell asleep or was distracted. It says he crossed the median then shot up the embankment, which, with a semi with that weight, he had to have been going full speed. His rig is facing the wrong direction to traffic. Thank god he did not hit anyone head on. And as a former first responder, I just thank god I never ran into a situation like this. I think I would have lost my mind
I agree who hook the rig up .
