“Vanned Off”: Horse required equine ambulance to get off the track; while not all end up dead, most do, as borne out by our subsequent reporting. “Bled”: pulmonary hemorrhage.

Everyday routine abuse of horses that causes harm, injuries and death to the horses is Animal Cruelty. That’s obvious, but who in horseracing-hell cares? Not the owners, not the trainers, not the track vets, not the State Racing or Gaming Commissioners, not The Stronach Group or any other Pari-Mutuel gambling venue, not anybody except those with a conscience of the difference between right and wrong and the capacity for empathy to the brutally exploited horses.
