Through a FOIA request to the Idaho Racing Commission, I have confirmed the following kill in 2023. (Note: Idaho’s last remaining commercial track closed in 2016. What’s left are various fairs, which combined for just 20 days of racing last year.)

How did it become a multiple choice of answers as to the cause of death of a horse exploited for racing? This goofiness is so very unprofessional. But what can you expect from a group of horse abusers in the Treasure Valley?
It shows a serious ineptitude to determine the exact cause of death. What kind of veterinarian could say a heart attack or a brain aneurysm?
I’m just glad that Idaho doesn’t subsidize horse racing!
