At Turfway Jan 4, Neolithic Nation was a “went wrong, vanned off.” This is almost invariably Kentucky Racing-speak for dead – and indeed she is. In the Steward’s Report, this: “Neolithic Nation was being pulled up nearing the 1/4 pole when he [sic] collapsed and fell. Upon the quick arrival of the KHRC vets, the horse was agonal and unresponsive. The horse was humanely euthanized.” “The horse” was a living, breathing, sentient being, and she was brought into this world, abused, and ultimately destroyed for nothing more than $2 bets. For shame, America. Neolithic was three years old.

NEOLITHIC NATION (FL), a Filly, was born on March 11, 2020 and raced at Woodbine, Turfway Park and once at Fort Erie. She finished Third in one of those races. She never crossed the finish line first or second in any of those races. She earned a little over $15,000 in her short life.
It’s a given that the racing industry publications don’t care about this lower level filly.
To them, it’s all about talking about the millions of dollars a horse earned from racing or from breeding and progeny.
She wasn’t a top level horse so the writers at the Paulick Report, Horse Racing Nation, Thoroughbred Daily News, Daily Racing Form & the BloodHorse don’t care about Neolithic Nation. Talk about commodification of a sentient being.
