There were two steeplechases held Saturday, Oct 14. At Genesee, in rainy NY, this in just three races (involving only 14 horses):
“Quality Choice fell at the 7th.”
“Lost Story fell at the 15th.”
“Renegade River fell at the 8th.”
“Rakhaa fell at the 11th.”
At Middleburg in Virginia, this in just six races:
“Seattle Seahawk was pulled up lame and vanned off the course.”
“Arrowheart fell mid race.”
“Laker Mamba fell on the final circuit.”
The stewards, in their official “reports,” completely stonewalled, refusing updates on any of the fallers. But it doesn’t take too much of an imagination…

Well, I’m sure they’re fine, right? According to the “owner” of SECRET OATH, she was walking soundly only 15 days after experiencing a fractured ankle which ended her career as a racehorse.
Please provide at least two credible sources that Secret Oath “fractured” her ankle, or retract your lie, & apologize for you exaggeration & sensationalism, which doesn’t at all help your cause.
Bobby:
Try reading the racing industry press publications and also on this blog Stacy Mitchell claimed that the only thing that was true is that SECRET OATH had a fractured ankle.
The article in the racing industry publication reported that the owners of SECRET OATH planned to sell her at a Fasig-Tipton auction. The reason for selling her was because her racing career had been ended due to the fracture.
Stacy Mitchell seemed to have forgotten that part of the story when she was denying that they don’t dump their horses and forget about the cost of aftercare.
Article #1: “Secret Oath injures her ankle, is retired to sales ring” by Ron Flatter (Horse Racing Nation) October 6, 2023,
Article #2: “Secret Oath Retired; Sells Nov. 7 at Fasig-Tipton” By Byron King (BloodHorse) October 6, 2023.
I do read racing industry publications (Bloodhorse, DRF, Paulick Report, Thoroughbred Daily News), and HRN isn’t one of them – they bill themselves as, “a fan-powered horse racing community,” which isn’t the same as a news outlet, & thus, not worth my time.
None of the articles I read from the above mentioned sites – all dated 10/6 – including the 2 you reference, mentioned anything as serious as a “non-displaced sesamoid fracture,” only the one dated 10/7 on HRN, did. I have to wonder why the breeder/owner would bother going to HRN to tell people her injury was more serious. Why not go to a real racing news outlet? Why make it public at all?
Article #1: “Secret Oath injures her ankle, is retired to sales ring” by Ron Flatter (Horse Racing Nation) October 6, 2023 – here’s what they reported, “was retired this week with a minor ankle injury”…nowhere in that article, is the word, “fracture” used, nor the word, “sesamoid”
Article #2: “Secret Oath Retired; Sells Nov. 7 at Fasig-Tipton” By Byron King (BloodHorse) October 6, 2023. – here’s what it reported, “retired from racing due to a minor ankle injury”, & “Ron Flatter of Horse Racing Nation first reported news of her retirement due to inflammation in her right front ankle.” again, nowhere is the word, “fracture,” or “sesamoid” used
So. all we have, is one article, on what basically amounts to a gossip rag of a site, which calls itself a Wiki, “completely reliant on the contribution of racing fans,” where someone claims the breeder & owner – probably against his own financial interest – supposedly told him, that it was a sesamoid fracture, and no actual racing news outlet reported that, or updated their 10/6 articles?
