A “report” from the Gaming Commission today, for Belmont Jun 25: “horse sustained an injury while breezing…euthanized.” The horse? So young he/she had yet to be named.

This is horseracing.

  1. A young horse not yet named and too young to be forced to run at a full gallop carrying a whip-wielding rider who weighs more than a hundred pounds. But, who in horseracing cares?! The horses are a commodity so they are treated inhumanely and they’re expendable in this egregiously barbaric industry.

    • Breaks my heart.
Why are media outlets not reporting on these cases All the time, especially since they are terribly chronic problems?
