Pair of 3-Year-Olds Dead in NY

Dead in NY: Cut the Check, Tuesday – euthanized for a “lung disease.” She had just turned three and was most recently raced (her very first) at Aqueduct in January. Same day, Hexotique was euthanized for an unspecified fracture. She, too, was three years old, but she had yet to be raced. This makes 1,762 dead horses at NYS tracks since they began making this type of information available in 2009.

  1. Horse racing is horrific for the horses because the owners only want every last penny out of their horses and care NOTHING for the horses health

  2. Anyone else having a hard time believing NYRA’s had exactly ZERO training fatalities this year? Last year at this time, they’d already admitted to TEN.
Sudden morning “safety”? Or, are HISA officials pressuring NYSGC to be less transparent about their training kills?
