Last Week…

Lord Only Knows “had an awkward start, pulled up, vanned off” at Will Rogers
Plate It Up “pulled up injured, vanned off” at Mahoning
Surf Ballroom “vanned off” at Keeneland
Coco’s Man “vanned off” at Evangeline
Isolation “vanned off” at Evangeline
Jesstifyed “vanned off” at Turf
Frolic More “bled, vanned off” at Keeneland
Cowtown Cowboy “returned bleeding bilaterally” at Mahoning
Varsity Kickline “vanned off” at Gulfstream
Lapis Storm “bled” at Mahoning
Hot Carol “vanned off” at Gulfstream
Royally Command “vanned off” at Santa Anita

While not all the “vanned” end up dead, most do, as borne out by our year-end FOIA reports. But even if death is not the ultimate result, the above are victims nonetheless, suffering painful injuries – in the case of the bleeders, pulmonary hemorrhage – so that some men may gamble, others chase pots of gold. (For any new confirmed deaths during the week, please see our running annual list.)
