At least two horses went down at the end of the 7th race at Meadowlands yesterday – with one, 7-year-old Incredible Shark, confirmed dead. (This, by the way, is the third confirmed racing kill on American tracks yesterday, which not only should shock and outrage but also prompt a national soul-searching.) The video speaks for itself:
That was just sickening to watch! That was so messed up. Why was the driver pulling on the reins so hard over and over before the wreck?
He’s not pulling, he’s slapping the horse with the reins.
That was horrible!

Everyone in racing has already answered your query, Patrick: and the answer is a resounding YES! This is absolutely the very, very best they can do. Horses gotta die, because that’s just racing.
In fact, I’m pretty sure they’re frantically drumming-up fake stats as we speak, to show all of America how much SAFER they’ve made harness racing for their beloved athletes. Even as the actual FACTS you present day after bloody day show the reverse is true.
Horrific and for what?
