Stress. This horse should’ve been enjoying some light ring work and pasture turnout. SAD!
I agree, Karen! This bloodsport is so cruel and so unnecessary!
Three years old and not raced? Makes me wonder if her “loving connections” didn’t see the speed they wanted during her workouts and decided to do something permanent about it.
A three year old is a good surgical candidate. Colic can be treated with surgical intervention. My guess is that the owners didn’t want to spend the money.
