The NYS Gaming Commission reports this for Kj Brent yesterday at Monticello: “euthanized in barn following fall & fracture.” Kj was nine; he was slated to be raced Friday. He is the 9th horse to die at a NY track this year (five weeks, that is).

Being a 9 year old standardbred, I can only imagine how many hundreds of times this horse actually raced, plus the thousands of miles he had on him for training.
