  1. The people involved in horse racing and killing should be penalized by law. All of the horses named above were injured by the CRIMINALLY insane behavior of people. These people should have their horses and their rights to own horses and/or businesses taken away and never be allowed to cause such horrendous pain, suffering and horror to horses ever again.

  2. Looks like the track is just a fancy name for a slaughter track . How many horses have to die ? Silly question . thousands it seems and the killing just keeps happening .

  3. Yet another heart wrenching list of racehorses who were killed by the horse racing business.
This will never stop until they shut down this utterly disgusting, and unacceptable killing machine.
All racehorses count, but I’m focusing on a few today to disprove a common defense set-out by pro-horse racing entities.
One of their common arguments is that the high-priced “elite” racehorses who are bred on the million dollar farms and who go to “top trainers” don’t befall the horrific fate of dying on the track and/or being sent to slaughter – nothing could be further from the truth.
Every single racehorse is subjected to the common, daily abusive business practices of horse racing including masking serious conditions with dope to keep them going and flipping a buck.
The masking of chronic conditions in racehorses are the main reasons leading up to breakdowns.
WEST SIDE – a “royally-bred” racehorse according to industry standards who sold for $200,000, bought and owned by “top” owners Gary and Mary West and to complete their “elite” connection is the trainer Bob Baffert. It don’t get better than this according to industry standards. Winning his first race, but going South thereafter, subsequently dumped into a $25,000 claiming race where he was claimed. It’s obvious that BB and the owners were well-aware of a serious condition that happened right after his first race that could never be resolved. Instead of doing the right thing and taking this horse off the track they made a quick $25,000 to send him off for another round of abuse which led to his death.
The secret vet/treatment records when under the care, custody and control of BB will be kept secret thereby eliminating any accountability or proof that they got rid of their problem.

    • The people who can put two and two together can figure it out when they have enough facts to put together and the ability to reason logically. It is NOT ROCKET SCIENCE to reason logically that a horse that was considered a top world-class horse dropping in class to the claiming ranks was suffering a serious injury, although masked by pain-killing drugs and whatever other dope/ drugs the “trainer” decided to administer to the horse for whatever reason.

The fact that a world-class Thoroughbred such as MONGOLIAN GROOM being entered by his “elite” connections into a Grade One championship Breeders’ Cup race, knowing full well that he had a defect in his way of going (due to injuries revealed by x-rays), proves that the corruption is rampant in the racing industry. There were a lot of people who made a lot of effort to make excuses for their lack of keeping this gelding safe. It’s what they do. It’s how they roll.

  4. Looks like the NYRA just confirmed Niente was killed at Belmont yesterday in race 9. But they also refer to her as a “he,” so who knows. Anyway, she was all of TWO, but ran (and died, likely) in the “Matron Stakes.” Disgusting.

    • A baby…while she was being beaten near the finish..the jockey did jump off and wasn’t the normal jack that walks away.
Kelly please see my response to you under comes back bleeding (if you didn’t already)

      • Yes, I saw your response, couldn’t reply under this system. But I appreciate that you (and others) DO watch the sickening abuses that accidentally get televised. Because those in the industry know that their whole house of horse-killing cards crumbles a little (or a lot) more with each publicized horror.
