Katies Easy Moves at Los Alamitos Sunday. Katies was “injured and vanned off” after finishing 4th (and “winning” $600 for his people) in the 6th race, and subsequently euthanized. He was six years old and under the whip for the 38th time.
Super Beauty at Golden Gate Saturday. The Board says “gastrointestinal,” but curiously the 2-year-old filly was, according to Equibase, “worked out” that day.
As California Racing continues to tell the world how they are leading the way on safety reforms, the bodies continue to pile up. Thus far, 2020:

Outlaw horseracing, it is cruel and causes too many deaths of race horses
This cruel “sport” for profit and gambling at cost of these beautiful animals’ lives has GOT TO STOP NOW.
Why are all these horses having to be euthanized? What are the causes and results due to? Seems animals are over whipped, over run and under cared for. No way around it, it is seriously cruelty to race horses swept under the rug. It’s all about the money and the horses are just tools.
Absolutely…its the same as greyhound racing …these animals are seen as machines…the cruelty is beyond words
Blatant animal abuse. I’ve heard far too much about the inhumane treatment of race horses to support something like this any longer. It’s all about money & fame. Lets ban horse racing all together.

It’s just heartbreaking that these magnificent animals that just want to please their owners are treated like a pile of shit. If the take isn’t big enough, kill them and collect the insurance. 2-year-olds are babies whose bones aren’t even fully developed and they are doped, buzzed and whipped to run or die.

We need to contact the legislators in California AGAIN to convince them that Santa Anita track needs to be shut down now, along with any and all other horseracing in the country.
I read these posts with a heavy heart every single day.I I I am angry at the incessant cruelty and abuse of these magnificent beings at the hands of some who should be in the same category as criminals. And elected politicians couldn’t give a crap! They are in the same category as the criminals, they are no better. No one has the damn guts to say ENOUGH! These are not humans, they are monsters. Since I joined HRW there has not been one day, ONE DAY without a death or several. And that’s what’s reported. Who knows how many more are dying and no one even knows their name.

KATIES EASY MOVES, 6 year old quarter horse gelding was run into the ground by this despicable business.
While on his way to making over $325,000 he was sold from owner to owner, trainer to trainer, barn to barn.
SUPER BEAUTY, at 17 months old had her first breeze on 11/24/2019.
However, she was most likely in training about 3 months before this first breeze which would make her 14 months old equivalent to a baby in diapers.
These abusive business practices are common and set the racehorse up for failure every step of the way.
This is systemic, legalized, widespread abuse and carnage.
All that animal cruelty for the benefit of some disgustingly greedy rich sadistic people! It must end now!!

The owners only care about money, not the horses. Two year olds are too young to race and endure the brutal punishment their bodies take training and racing while still growing. The owners see the horses as disposable commodities. Disgusting.
Horse racing is patently offensive. It is a euphemism for abuse, pure and simple. These injuries and deaths of young, otherwise healthy horses is sickening. If these people cared so much about horses, they wouldn’t be in this industry at all and horse racing would come to a grinding halt. I have seen too many screwed up OTTBs who may or may not have another chance at another career. The damage done at the track is so immense, so long lasting, a very small minority of these horses succeed in another discipline. Their brains are fried from being at the track. Irreparable damage is done to these horses, if they don’t die first.

The dead continue to pile up and nothing is done. There is no other sport, in which there would literally be one death of its athletes every day, that would be allowed to operate. Well, these horses are athletes, mistreated, trained and raced FAR too young. A perfect storm of bullshit, lies, corruption and carnage.

Unbelievable that you dress up and watch them run to their death and then just go home. Let’s hook your kids up to run all day from age 5 til they drop , see how you like it. Horses are social and you tear families apart to keep breeding. They either end up dead on the track or in the slaughterhouse. Great profession ! You should be so proud of your trophy’s.

Why is this not properly investigated – there are far too many deaths and injuries. ALL Racing should be banned.
What makes the widespread abuse and dying so egrecious is that the racehorses have NO protections under our legal system as confirmed by D.A. Lacey during the release of their report.
There are NO NEUTRAL groups investigating.
The horse racing industry would like you to think that their racing commissions are the protectors who implement the rules and regulations, but this is an outright lie.
There are so many rulings that proves this to be the case – too numerous to list here, but some have been highlighted here including beating a racehorse incessantly with little to no fine.
This would garner Felony Animal Cruelty charges in any other setting in America, but not horse racing.
Of course racehorses standing in their stalls in pain with horrific injuries including a racehorse who was confined in his stall with a broken leg and NO adequate vet treatment.
Again, Felony Animal cruelty under any other laws, but not horse racing.
It just goes on and on and there are no reforms that will stop this widespread institutionalized racehorse cruelty and inhumane treatment of an animal stricly for profit.

I used to think these horses were treated very well. But it is all for our entertainment.It is wrong!
This disgusting so called sport must be stopped immediately and those in charge must be punished severely.
Don’t know why this horse was running with bandages on legs, tape could have been too tight. I bet they run them when they know they are not fit enough, or overworked. Could of been drugged. Had muscles. They should pay to fix these horses legs or get false legs and retire them to pasture. They would then slow down. Money is all they care about! It’s sick.
