I looked at the entries for Genesee Valley, which is a small one day steeplechase meet for the local elite in New York. Their website touts a family fun day and a farmers market, among other fun things to do, while watching the races.
What I noticed among their entries was a 13 year old mare, entered in a maiden special weight, to carry 147lbs over 3 miles, with amateur riders. And it went from there. Teenaged horses were common, running miles over jumps, some carrying 165llbs. And that was only for the few races that were listed on equibase. And the results are shown above. 2 horses that were potentially injured or killed for a family fun day.
I’m saddened and so incredibly heartbroken over this killing list and every single one of them.
They all count, but I can’t can’t get GRADY out of my thoughts.
GRADY, who somehow endured his extreme abuse, cruelty, and inhumane treatment by multiple owners, trainers, from track to track, surface to surface all the while getting needles shoved into his jugular, joints, meds in the mouth and wherever else for 9 years!
No doping/vet records following him, just a continuous ongoing incarceration for something he’s never done, just to be another profit slave for the multi-billion dollar wagering outlets and for demented people who didn’t give one damn about him.
I watched his replays – they are heartbreaking to watch this gelding with such a big heart, who tried so hard while being beaten in the stretch.
He made over $408,000 but this wasn’t enough for these greedy, blood and life sucking human parasites.
You would think after $250,000 somebody would have taken him out of his misery and got him a home.
No way, because this is horse racing and it’s shameful that these racehorse killers get away with this.
It’s revolting that racehorse killers like Doug O’Neill actually have the gull to “celebrate” horse racing.
Well you are celebrating massive suffering and carnage because that’s what horse racing is.
You and your business will all go down just like the racehorses because that’s exactly what you all deserve.
I will continue to be a voice for your voiceless victims.
Grady, the shit that came out of your asshole had more morals than all of your exploiters combined.
