Raysunett Dead at Thistledown; Cougar Hanover Dead at Monticello

At least two confirmed kills on American tracks yesterday:

In the 5th at Thistledown, says Equibase, 5-year-old mare Raysunett “fell midway on the turn and was euthanized.” Dead. In the same race, Plastic Girl “fell over the fallen RAYSUNETT on the turn – DNF.” No word on her condition.

In the 6th at Monticello, 2-year-old Cougar Hanover “collapsed and died after race – suspected aortic rupture.” A “suspected aortic rupture” at two? Fret not, for the Gaming Commission’s “investigation” is sure to get to the bottom of it.

This is horseracing.
