A world away from the odious excesses at Churchill Downs, America’s more pedestrian venues – that is to say, the vast majority of U.S. racetracks – continued their relentless pounding of equine bodies yesterday. And killing: In the 6th at Parx, 3-year-old Nasa “broke down in his right front…humanely euthanized” (Equibase).
Also – I have confirmed that 4-year-old Luck of Irish was euthanized back in the barn after being “eased, vanned off” in the 9th Tuesday at Mountaineer.
As the Racing world continues to celebrate this morning, two more dead horses.
How very sad.
The inexcusable bloody carnage continues.
Anyone who bets on horseracing is supporting this hideous cruelty upon innocent horses.
I hate to see the way they whip those horses….they can only run so fast and I don’t think the whip is necessary to make them perform any better. So sorry sad the hear of those two horses being put down.
