Busy Equine Ambulance at Gulfstream

Yesterday at Gulfstream, three horses were ambulanced off the course (Equibase):

Given the data on the “vanned off,” it’s a good bet that at least one is dead.

In addition:

In the 1st, Horsin’ Around “trailed the field and was eased” to a 30+ length last-place finish that still (Gulfstream being a racino track) earned her connections $140.

In the 5th, Saint Suave did not finish.

In the 10th, Cheyenne Nation was “pulled up quick after the wire.”

Meanwhile, in the 8th up at Hawthorne, “PFERD came through tight quarters at the start, was urged to contend four wide into the bend, suffered an injury leaving the furlong marker, ducked inwards while his rider attempted to gather up his mount, fell to the track near the sixteenth marker and was vanned off the course.”

Injured, fell, vanned off.
