  1. Unfortunately, the Red Mile opened up here in Kentucky, Lexington to be exact. I believe its a racino. I saw the commercial for it and looked it up on their website. Grrrrrr……..

  2. CHASE THE GIANT a four year old gelding – euthanased with no transparency or disclosure as to the injury he suffered – just another racehorse. Plenty more coming in….instantly replaced!

16 starts: 2-0-1 for $57,855 (averaging $3,616 per start). Began his career “officially” as a 3 year old, however, his foaling date was April 10, 2011 which means he was in fact a 2 year old when he had his first 3 race starts. In his first start he came home 18 lens 3rd last and Sunrise Stables was one of the two owners. This horse has had a few trainers – Sunrise Stables became the sole owner.
Something happened after his 3rd start because he had a very lengthy lay-off from March 16 until Nov 21, 2014. An eight (8) months’ lay-off which is unusual – highly likely a health issue/injury. He was up for grabs in his final fatal race for $7,500.

According to equibase.com connections as of last start were –
    Jockey : Hector Berrios
    Trainer: Ralph D’Alessandro
    Owner: Sunrise Stables
    Breeder: Andrew Cohen

Another innocent defenceless voiceless thoroughbred horse DESTROYED by the racing industry.
