Two More “Catastrophic Breakdowns”

Two horses have been reported “broke down” by Equibase over the past two days. Both are almost certainly dead.

May 3, 2014 – DNF

June 6, 2014 – 8th of 10

July 1, 2014 – last of 12

July 25, 2014 – 8th of 12

August 16, 2014 – 6th of 12

August 29, 2014 – 5th of 9

September 26, 2014 – 9th of 12

March 21, 2015 – last of 6, 25+ lengths back

April 9, 2015 – 8th of 10

  1. Mojo Workin is dead and, according to my contact, it was a “horrific” breakdown with TWO broken legs. RIP sweet boy…you were just a baby who was exploited by an industry based on gambling and greed. Just one more race….just one more race…and now you are dead. I despise racing more with each passing day.

    • Thank you for making the call, Mary, to investigate the outcome of Mojo Workin’s breakdown. The industry that kills their “athletes” would rather keep such horrific kills quiet. There is no transparency in this business, just feeble attempts to make it appear there is. TRUE transparency would be the final nail in the industry’s coffin, and so the secretive exploitation continues.

  2. Poor Manzutti. Obviously, he didn’t like racing. His owner should’ve retired him long ago.

    • Right, Jenn…so much for these wonderful owners and trainers who just LOVE their horses listening to the defenseless being they’re responsible for! Abusers…every one.
