  1. New Jersey has it’s nasty secrets they also try to hide from the public. EIGHT – 2 year old babies who should never be racing at that age, dead. Their skeletal system is not fully formed at that age. It’s a damn shame, 39 lives cut short with excruciating fatal injuries, pain, heart failure, collick, as well as soft tissue injuries. All for what – a $2.00 bet. It makes me sick.

R.I.P. babies, we will remember all of you. Hopefully, you are in a better world…Marlene Thornley

  2. Hold the Nutmeg had just turned 2 years old in March. She was a bay filly – a baby. To repeat what Patrick wrote about her injury…”bilateral complete open MC3 fractures of the LF and RF limbs”. The MC3 bones are the cannon bones – they are weight-bearing bones – the bones between the horses’ knees and “ankles”. She broke both front legs…the LEFT FRONT LEG and the RIGHT FRONT LEG. Complete, OPEN fractures. Snapped in two. Like Eight Belles. She was 2 years old with two broken front legs. JUST PART OF THE GAME, RACING SUPPORTERS?

    • Thank you Joy for looking into these horses. I just felt so sick when i read Patrick’s list.

      JUSTIFY THIS LIST RACING SUPPORTERS!

And here we have another Eight Belles in HOLD THE NUTMEG and as Joy has pointed out only just turned 2 years of age by her foaling date. When was she put in training i wonder? I hate to think what this poor little filly went through when in training and then her sickening death.

The people that witnessed her breaking her two front legs have to seriously question this and if they don’t, then they are callous despicable people. The racing commissions and their so called “veterinarians” absolutely disgust me and once again they have blood on their hands.

  3. Cuban Devil, 5-year-old bay gelding. His last 7 races…

    – Dec 30, 2013…10th of 11
    -Jan 12, 2014…last of 7 (over 37 lengths behind)
    -Jan 27, ’14…8th of 11
    -Feb 25, ’14…9th of 12
    -Mar 22,’14…last of 8
    -April 12, ’14…last of 9
    -April 27,’14…dead.

All under owner/trainer Bryant R. Taylor.

RIP Cuban Devil. What you needed was very clear. Taylor chose to run you to death, instead.

  4. Sunshine Rambler, a 2006 bay gelding, made 282K. Died of “cardiovascular failure”? Must have been drug-induced because a congenital defect would have never allowed him to run 52 times.

  5. The Multiple Stakes Placed gelding, He Can Run, made 308K in his life. But in the end, the quarter-of-a-million-plus didn’t buy him anything but a broken pelvis and bleeding to death.

  6. Well, M & S Pet Removal has a good income from just removing dead race horse’s don’t they ?
Gee, with the certain numerous death’s of these horse’s, this business likely benefit’s by keeping a
“pet” removal truck parked at the track, out of sight of course, wouldn’t want to upset the bettors …
