… Pretty Ponies … Whose gonna win … Pretty Ponies … Who will not make it back to the barn?
That’s pretty much it, isn’t it? Maybe this “thrill” of who might die is what excites people. :(
“Maybe the thrill of who’s gonna die excites people?” Thats a horrible thought
Hey, Joanie, if we got a “thrill” from watching horses die in the dirt, then we would want racing to continue, right? We, the anti-racing folks, want racing to go bye bye because we want to STOP the carnage! Got it, Joanie?
THIS JUST HAS TO STOP……I WILL NEVER WATCH ANOTHER HORSE RACE. i NEVER REALIZED THIS WAS HAPPENING. OMG! POOR BABY(YOUNG) HORSES. FIND ANOTHER WAS OF GAMBLING PEOPLE.
Thank you, Dale. You are not alone in just coming to realize what the horseracing industry does to horses. This multi-billion dollar gambling industry WANTS to keep the general public in the dark…because if a civil, compassionate society knew the terrible truths, it would be enraged that sentient creatures were being crippled and killed for gambling and entertainment purposes. THANK YOU again.
You people are ignorant. These horses are well cared for. If they weren’t racing, where would they be? On a truck to Mexico or Canada, slaughter bound to become someone’s dinner for the Europeans, or Asians? Accidents happen, even if you have a horse in a pasture or a paddock. Horses get hurt and sometimes fatally. No races needed.
Gigi, your “story” is old, and tired. Yes, if racing went away there would be thousands of horses with nowhere to go. The slaughter pipeline would need to work overtime. However, within a couple of years, breeding would diminish drastically because there wouldn’t be a market for the product – the product being the foals. That is Business 101 but there are many ignorant folks, such as yourself, who can’t seem to grasp that concept.
You then state that “these horses are well cared for”. Yes, some of them are well fed, groomed regularly, and given their drugs and joint injections right on schedule. However, many coming off the track, if they make it out of racing alive, are injured and some are limited to being a pasture pet as a second career. Well cared for? Nope, Gigi, you are wrong about that.
Yes, you are right, accidents happen but not at the rate they do in racing and just so someone can be entertained and place a lousy bet. Those that think otherwise are either delusional or ignorant.
Joy, and we have heard for years that there are “many” good people in racing and that the “majority” of those immersed in racing are simply wonderful. Blah, blah, blah… Of course, if there are “many” good people in racing, why would TB’s, fresh off the track, end up in the slaughter pipeline? Of course, those who babble about all the good people are just babbling. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Right, Mary….those immersed in racing and making their living off the backs of the non-consenting horses always spew the same old thing. They NEED racing to continue so they can feed their own faces…and will defend the abuse and deny it exists in an effort to feel better about themselves.
Yea, that makes sense gigi…one must either race them or slaughter them. Wow.
Dixie Minister is alive and in a kill buyer’s lot! Contact Beyond the Roses. He needs bail!
GREAT news Dixie Minister is not dead…but he was found with a KB and will be safe soon, as soon as the rest of the funds are raised and transport arranged
